Live6ix for Mac
===============

Version 0.5.0 (b726f00). Share your screen with a link, under a second of delay.

Requirements: a Mac with an Apple chip (M1 or newer) and macOS 15 or newer.
Macs with an Intel processor are not supported.

1. Open the app (first time only)
---------------------------------

The app is not signed by Apple, so macOS blocks it the first time.
Double-click "Live6ix" in Finder. When the message says it can't be
opened, close the message and do one of these:

  a) System Settings > Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom and click
"Open Anyway" next to "Live6ix". Then double-click it again and
confirm. (The button shows only after a double-click in Finder.)

  b) Or, in Terminal, run (change the path to the folder you extracted):
       xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine ~/Downloads/screen-share-macos

Live6ix then offers to move itself to your Applications folder: click
"Move to Applications". It runs and updates itself from there.

2. Screen recording permission (first time only)
------------------------------------------------

The first time, Live6ix asks to record the screen. Then:

  - System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen & System Audio Recording:
    turn on Live6ix.
  - Open Live6ix again (macOS offers to quit and reopen it for you).

Every now and then macOS asks again whether Live6ix may keep recording
the screen: allow it.

If you turn on the microphone on the page, macOS also asks for microphone
permission for Live6ix the first time. If you deny it, the stream goes on
without the microphone.

3. Use
------

  - Open Live6ix from Applications (or Launchpad).
  - The first time, it asks for your invite: paste the one you got with the
download link. It is saved; it won't ask again.
  - It opens a page in your browser to pick what to share (the whole screen
or one window), the quality, the microphone and which apps stay out of
    the audio. Click Start.
  - The window shows the link to send to whoever watches, with a Copy button.
  - To stop, close the window or quit Live6ix (Cmd+Q).

The list of apps to leave out of the audio shows the apps playing sound.
If the app you want isn't there, let it play something and click
"Refresh lists".

FFmpeg
------

Live6ix carries FFmpeg (https://ffmpeg.org) inside, under the GNU LGPL 2.1
or later (FFMPEG-LICENSE.txt). The exact FFmpeg source used, and how to
build it, is at:
